How is current rank measured surrounded by Hawaii? I know it differs from the mainland measure but how?

Answers:

In Hawaii, waves are measured from the subsidise of the wave, which is how top are measured scientifically. This height usually results within 2/3 to 1/2 the height of the obverse of the waves. In Hawaii when we read out waves are 8 - 10 foot, that means the frontage of the wave is in the region of 16 - 20 feet illustrious.
Just watched a program on breakers and surfing. There are four sensors floating 200 miles out off the coast of the Hawaiian Islands. Just as I be going to get more info, I have to leave the house. IT be on the Discovery channel. Sorry I could`nt be of more lend a hand.
They measure the thrash height from the put money on, instead of the face of the surge like the rest of the world does (at least possible the mainland).

"Wave heights are somewhat tricky. There are so many different ways to look at the size of the surge. If you took two people and have them look at exactly the same roller they would come up with totally different sizes."

An 6-8' set white horses for California would probably be 3-4' in Hawaii.

On the mainland, they consider the wave from the bottom of the trough contained by front of it to the crest of the wave. In Hawaii, they judge it at the back -- that is to say, from the ambient surface of the water to the crest of the undulation. So if you have a 10 foot swell in California, it would be a 5 foot thrash in Hawaii. They're one and the same sized waves, it in recent times depends on whether you measure from the front or the rear.
Hope that helps.

Where can I buy used head to sort fishing sinkers?

Answers:

Shotgun pellets may be used. They don't cost much at a gun shop.
You might want to read this first:
http://www.asafishing.org/asa/images/gov...

Lead may soon be prohibited for use as fishing weights and most major manufacturer have already started using other metals that are more ecologically friendly.
Lead is the best fishing consignment for it's density, malleability and cost. Using used lead is not the best opinion however as it often contains asbestos. Not exactly what you want to be messing around beside.
you can buy lead at a roofing stoor they get rid of lead within rolls for flashing chimines.
You might be able to free yourself some money, not that you would save much, but here are a few option.
Go to demolition sites of really old buildings, they used to use head pipes for funaces and such. Another place is where they hold old tires attached to rims, the balance on the wheels are head. You might be able to obtain a bunch of old ones to use.
Call around to recycle centers. That is the cheapest channel to get it surrounded by bulk. I also melt down front for sinkers and I just occassionaly shift to empty parking lots and drive around at just about 20 mph and find lots of tire weights that must have fall off at some time. I other have 5 - 10 lbs of the stuff at any one time.
run to a tire center and ask if they are throwing away their used balance weights they are made of head and once they take them sour the tires they toss them..
Have you any idea of the spasm and suffering fisherman's lead cause to the swans and other bird and animals who ingest this stuff. There must be an alternative, why not try to find that instead.

What's a step-by-step method for coiling mainsheets?

Question:What's a step-by-step method for coiling mainsheets?
Answers:

To make a nice smart coil of a main sheet requires braided and not twisted sheet procession - otherwise it will twist. Just lay the lapse down on the deck in a small circle, and keep hold of going around it. Keep the sheet tight. If you're right handed, coiling clockwise works best, if you're moved out handed shift counterclockwise. Be sure you have plenty room for the full length of sheet before you start. Practice make perfect!
coiling what?

Whats the difference between snorkeling and scuba diving?

Answers:

In scuba diving you wear a tank and are fully submerged contained by the water. Snorkeling is where on earth you wear the little mask near a hose that sticks out of the water so you can breathe.
open water within scuba diving where contained by snorkeling your just wast weighty or you never go lower than more than the snorkel will reach
Snorkeling uses a mouth snorkel and you swim on the surface next to your face down. Scuba diving involves an nouns tank so you can stay very much submerged for at least 30 minutes at a time.
snorkeling you are on the surface and scuba diving you are underwater
snorkling is stay at the surface using the atmosphere above you
scuba is goin underneath the water next to oxygen tanks
Scuba (Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) allows you do descend to great depths.

Snorkling is done contained by about two to three foot of water (however long the snorkle is)
The equipment and depth.
Snorkeling you just need a snorkel (sic) and fins, for SCUBA diving you obligation underwater breathing equipment - SCUBA is an acronym for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus.

Snorkeling requires your own lungs, a snorkel, and goggles...scuba diving requires a tank or two of nouns so you can stay submerged longer...
when u snorkel u stay just below the water's surface and the waters are usually shallow as in good health. Scuba diving, u need gas tank and all the other cavernous sea diving equipment and.. dive ^^
scuba divers own oxygen tanks, showery suits, air regulators and spend most of their time cavernous underwater, snorkelers on the other hand requirement only hold a mask and snorkel and stay for the most part on the surface of the water looking down. as you would expect they can dive but only for as long as their lungs allow.
scuba diving you own a air reservoir and you "Dive". snorkeling you look at sea weed and shells on the point of the beach
In snorkeling, you don't hold any artificial way of breathing, namely no nouns bottles. If you want to 'dive' while snorkeling, you'll have to hold a deep breath and come vertebrae to the surface before you inevitability oxygen.

Scuba diving requires some equipment which allows you to stay under sea for a long time, giving you the possibility to dive deeper.
Snokeling is done without artificial support. You enjoy a small tube that allows you to breathe while you are on the surface of the water, but which closes when you travel underwater. You can free-dive comfortably, using snorkel, to depths of around 30 feet. Then you enjoy to come back up for nouns, unless you are VERY experienced.
Scuba is quite different. The cross scuba is an acronym for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. You swim with an nouns tank strapped to your final, and with it you can stay underwater for give or take a few an hour, depending on the depth at which you are swimming and the amount of energy you are expending.
Hope this answers your sound out?
