What difference do the shape of rail on a surfboard create to how the board perform?
Question:ie, the difference between, low, med-low, boxy raols etc.
Also, what difference does bottom shape make?
eg vee, concave, single to double concave, bonza bottom, channel, etc...

here are so many differences contained by board designs and dementions out there, if you want a faster board you want a short time less rocker on the rail... if you want a high gig board get more shape into the bottom of the board

Why have everyone given up on water-skiing and gone into wake up boarding?
Question:Ok I get that wakeboarding is the hottest craze, but at the last boat show I just about saw any competition ski boats, just extremely expensive wakeboard boats. I mingy these boats were priced upwards of $80k I get the message a dealership would be happy to profit 35 to 40 thousand dollars on a wakeboard boat, but is in attendance not even people out in attendance who also have a eagerness for skiing anymore? I would think that society would simply stick to the old institution slalom because its so much cheaper. Besides when you get pious enough skiing the sport is adictive as anything.
I wonder ... Is my sport dying?

Water skiing is dying somewhat. I waterski and wake up board and i think that wakeboarding is easier. it is easier to return with up wakeboarding than waterskiing. The prices of wakeboard boats are ridiculous, but the prices of ski boats are climbing too. waterskiing is also dying because you need almost immaculate water to bring back good and wakeboarding you use the roller to your dominance.
(My dad and my brother both ski compettively, so they are trying to help keep hold of the sport alive)
I can only speak for myself, but wakeboarding doesn't wear me out as in the blink of an eye as water skiing.
capably i think most nation are thinking, why ski when you can wake board? they might be thinking that you can do everything that you can do on skis, on a stir board. skiing is great, but wake boarding is brand new and exciting so alot of people are switching to it only to try it. they might switch back sooner or then, or do both
Jason, your sport is not dying. Wake boarding is like a toboagan surrounded by the winter snow. Jump on and hope you don't hit something. No braines involved. Water skiing and snow skiing. Need to think a bit. Just ask Sonny Bonno.
I enjoy water-skied once and wake boarded a few times so I'm not professing to be an expert here.
IMHO - it is the COOL factor of wakeboarding. The same foundation why the kids on the slopes are snowboarding instead of skiing and why kids are skateboarding in the streets instead of rollerblading. It's adjectives about the sign. That's why kids in OHIO wear Billabong. That's why family in S Dakota wear Volcom...

I expect so, they being so dramatic, and adjectives. It is however quite stupid to stir kayaking on a rolling tsunami. The fame won't concern much if you are dead, what matter is the fact of where on earth? Heaven, or Hell for you?
