Has anyone ever had their jetski blow away from them, leaving them stranded?

Question:I was out in the wind jumping waves one September on Outer Bay in Colchester, Vt. I lost my grip because my hands got numb and could not swim fast enough to catch the jetski in the wind, though the engine kill switch worked. Has this happened to anyone else? I use a tether now, how did it effect your jetski experience?
Answers:

Nope, that hasn't happened to me, yet. I'm not sure what type of jetski you were using but a lot of the newer models (like my SeaDoo RXP) have a new feature that can prevent this from happening. First, when the key comes out they have the automatic kill switch (like you mentioned) but after that they are suppose to automatically steer to one side so that they go in a circle in one place. I haven't tested it out too much yet, but this feature is suppose to prevent what happened to you; but I still have thoughts of a jetski doing circles around me as I swim towards it.

Approximately how much denser is the heavens a diver breathes at a depth of 20 metres as compared to the surface?

Question:diving physics
Answers:

Mmmm, divepete04 is more or less correct, however digital rare talent above was getting closer to the truth. What you must not do is procure metres involved with Atmopheres they only just belong in one and the same sentence. Your depth of 20metres is 3 Bar absolute not 3 ATA which equates to 33 foot. Imperial and Metric - keep 'em seperate.

For respectively 33 ft you descend the pressure increases by 1 ATA and for each 10m you descend the pressure increases by 1 Bar.
1 Bar = 14.5 psi
1 ATA = 14.7 psi - a exceptionally slight difference but a difference all like.

So, the true answer to your question is that it is 3 times as dense ie 3 Bar complete
A lot, believe me, have you ever feel how much pressure you get within your ears at 20 meters.
It's just as dense as it be on the surface if it's in a cistern.
30 feet below water equals one atmosperic section.
so if you were 30 foot under, it would be aware of like 2. one at ocean level, and 1 superfluous from being 30 foot under.
20 meters is 60 foot so it would probably be around 3.5 atmospheric units.
I ponder the air would be 3.5 times denser. a short time ago a rough estimate though. there are calculators for this info on google.
its at 2 atoms so twice as dense going into the lungs and exhaled at duplicate rate check padi or bsac scuda websites
Who breaths under hose. Who? Who?
I wanta know. Isn't the air deliver to a diver the same as the surface?
no clue im merely 7
right then this is the end one you get for free!!

at 20meters you are underneath the effects of 3 ata, 1 from the surface and 2 from water (assuming seawater), and so as the air you breath leaves the scuba cistern it is also under the effects of 3ata, and is effectively anyone squashed 3 times more i.e. 3 times more dense... hence you will get thru the heavens 3 times quicker than you would on the surface.

know some stuff dont I..
You guys need to check your math. When you move about down to 20m, you have 1/4 the volume you have at the surface. Remember, when you go down 1 atmosphere, you cut the volume contained by half. When you shift down another atmosphere, you cut the 1/2 volume in partially again. The air will be 4 times denser.

Where is the 'best' place for windsurfing, within your feelings? (UK / Europe / Worldwide)?

Question:By 'best' I guess I mean reliable wind, warm hose down, good bar nearby etc...

My favourites:

UK - Portland Harbour, Dorset. Good interweave when a south-westerly blows over Chesil Bank, flat water.

Europe - Vassiliki, Lefkas, Greece. Usually blowing hard in the afternoon, thankfulness to 'Eric' (the god of wind). Hot and sunny & the 'Zeus'bar.

Worldwide - Margarita, Venezula. REALLY windy and hot, cheap rum...

Have I missed anything special...?

My most favorite place surrounded by all the world to travel is on the sound at the North Carolina Outer Banks around Nags Head, USA. My reason should carry over for turn surfing. The wind is usually great and consistent, but you hold little wave dealing because of being protected by the balustrade islands. The sound is also slightly shallow over a great deal of it, usually not over waist cavernous so it's quite melt compared to the ocean.
And every once surrounded by a while a big storm lets you shift mack 3 with your coat on fire! I be there for tropical storm Beryl and it be awesome!!
It has to be The Dominican Republic. Caberette seaside on the north coast, east of Sosua, the waves are hugh and wow, the twine is really good, the hose down is warm and the sand are golden, what more could you want.
this is i long shot but i think somewhere blustery might help
The Dalles surrounded by Oregon, USA, the worldwide best....always blowing hard and the Columbia River is a great place to surf.

The island of Tiree in Scotland is Uk's windiest place and is amazingly handsome with deserted sandy beach that would put many places contained by the world to shame, not the most lively though. Believe they've held the UK champs here. only downside is it's a bit of a road!
