What is curling?
Question:lol i have no opinion wat it is.. so imma askin
Answers:
Curling is a winter sport, originally devised in Scotland and played regulary from the tardy 1500's (I'm Canadian and have to concede we didn't invent it as others may think). Think of it as shuffleboard on rime, but played as a team. Each squad has a skip (team captain) and sweeps ( rime sweepers). The rock ( granite stone with a handle) is sent down the rime to the house (target area). The throw can include a spin ( to make the rock curl or progress around a rock in it's opening (guards), like a curve bubble in baseball) The sweeps slide down the rime, sweeping the ice surrounded by front of the rock to make the rime slicker, keeping up the rocks speed or cease sweeping to slow it down also affecting any curve imparted on the rock.. The rocks sent out of the house by person struck or those that go through the house in need stopping, don't count. Rocks that are closest to the button ( centre spot of the target) are what business.
It's one of those sports that may be a little boring to examine, but actually is exciting to play, as it depends heavily on skill, relationship and strategy.
its a sport
it's like shuffle board on rime
Curling is a precision team sport similar to bowls or bocce, played on a rectangular sheet of prepared rime by two teams of four players respectively, using heavy polished granite stones which they slide down the rime towards a target area call the house. Points are scored for the number of stones that a squad has closer to the center of the target than the closest of the other team's stones. The even of precision and complex nature of the strategic thinking required to win have led curling to be referred to as "chess on rime."
Curling is also a verb, "to curl"; which means to induce coils or ringlets within hair.
Ice skating team game with brooms and a solidity.
it depends..they could be talkin bout curling hair.it is the process of doing curls or something to be precise starting to curve
Akin to shuffleboard or bocci, a heavy stone is sent down an icy lane. The beaters sweep the front of the road clean, not touching the stone, hoping it will house in a guaranteed spot at the far end of it.
my hubby say it's the best olympic sport...i say it's retarded! two ppl priming the rime for a large puck to move across to win points in some process or another...ok guess that doesn't really answer the question huh? hehe
it's a winter sport played on rime. a stone is shoved down the ice, and afterwards guys with brooms sweep away the rime that would cause friction and slow the stone down. The be reluctant is to get the stone into the middle of a bullseye, while knock your opponent away from the center.
curling is a spectator sport played on the ice and you push this big rock next to this brush thing and ur 2 partner run in front of the rock beside brooms trying to melt the rime so the rock goes closest to the tareget and who ever's rock get in the target or the closest win ! soo that's the game of curling
that's really great, GOOD JOB!!!!
a activity for neards and cowards
It is a cananidin sport wear they throw big rocks and they use brooms to speed it up or slow the rock down.
a sport that canadians jack off too
It's played on rime with brooms and a 40lbs rock. It looks close to a great sport. It looks very difficult as in good health. I'd like to try it.
Isn't it what girls do near their hair? Or conceivably a type of ballet trick?
scubabob appears to enjoy way to much time on his hand.almost wrote a book on curling.sounds like a gay *** sport to me!!!!!!!!!!...
Snowboarding sustain!!?
Question:Ok so I need some oblige I want to buy a snowboard and some gear. I have no hypothesis where to start. What is the best brand ect???
Answers:
Hopefully this way you went snowboarding first to try it out...If you want to spend 1000 $ or more after I would go next to Burton all the method. But first talk to a skateboard/snowboard shop outside the mountain where on earth you snowboard at. A lot of ski resort shops, don't really know what they are talking in the order of when it comes to snowboarding.but it just depends on the place you walk to. The more money you spend the higher standard you will get.
u r not a snowboarding freek afterwards...
u should just move about to the ski resort and just rent them in that until u become experienced... then perchance buy one...
I just started snowboarding two years ago and there's some rudiments you need to know. First when you're betting a snowboard, you want to go and get a snowboard that's your height or shorter or you won't know how to turn. Also if your just foundation getting a wide board would be best.
As for boots and bindings its roughly speaking what feel comfortable. Theres a gazillion features that can come beside boots and bindings, but your best bet is to shop around the cheap stuff and get the traditional boots and bindings not clip ins.
Good Luck
the best brand as far as i know are burton , k2, salomon, if you want to buy tentative, make sure you be in motion to a shop where they do boot fitting, they will even mould the insoles to ur specification and ur foot, so the boots will be comfy.
ok everyone have there own favorite brand mines are k2 for my board burton for my bindings and salomon for my boots but thats in recent times me
if you goo to a decent board shop the will give support to you ouut in choosing these things
but past buying a snowboard you should have an concept what you are looking for before you goo to the shop incase you seize sold the wrong stuff
check the board and see if your weight is contained by the weight gamut
check the width of the board ... to doo this run a boot that is your size and place it too see if in that is over hang
and next what kind of rinding doo yo doo if it is free style next a shorter board
if freeride you want a longer board
hope this hellps you choosing your gear =]

Ride, Rome, or Drake bindings if you prefer the metal heel cup instead of the cheap plastic bindings, like burton. (they label awesome boards though)
What I would do is try renting gear and ride for a wek until you have settled that you like it. Then I would keep on till the end of the season to buy gear when iy go on sale. The first set you will wreck.
how much u prepared to spend
first try the plastic brands then when you capture used to them
go to a ski/snowboarding resort and consent to them help you.
the best plastic brand is riva
Okay, capably if you are a beginner and don't really know much just about it, I would suggest a Firefly. Mainly because that's what I began to snowboard beside and gradually as I become better and knew what I be looking for in a board and what I be going to use it for like recreational etc consequently I'd choose between a Burton board or K2, however those board are very costly so know your stuff formerly you go and spend close to 300$ on just a snowboard. Also I would suggest to get hold of a helmet and some warm gloves because it can receive really really cold and there is no fun when you are cold, believe me!
Goggles are also well-mannered to protect your face from the twist when you are going down the hill efficient because it can get really cold at some points. I surmise that the best suggestion is to go to your local sporting suitable store and get some more information form the relations there because they know what they are discussion about and they can support you get a board and adjectives the proper equipment that will suit your needs and budget.
-good luck, hold fun snowboarding.
I love Burton snowboards, and on their website, they have suggestion arrangements of boards, boots, and bindings. You find a board, boot, or binding you similar to, and then at the bottom they make a contribution suggestions. They throw out a few combonations for each, but you ultimately resolve. I suggest if you are still a beginner, basically rent a board until you are sure if snowboarding is right for you. Buckmans ski and snowboard shops are great for renting for a weekend, or the whole season. They can abet you there beside choosing the right equipment.
Good luck!
What considerate of see skis should i gain?
Question:i race slalom and gs for a d-1 college and i dont own a lot of money to spend on a foreign pair of see skis. i either obligation a pair for both see or a pair that will work for both. i inevitability a fairly stiff ski because im a drastically aggresive skier.
Answers:
Okay, first off, check out Ebay. I love Ebay! Atomics are across the world inexpensive, but quality see skis. Atomic is all I see on. You can bid on a pair on Ebay that are modern, demo, or used but still in right condition. They often get rid of demo skis, which ski shops on the mountain rent out to prospective buyers. The demo-people often resolve they don't want a pair of skis, so the wholesaler sells them on Ebay. My skis be demos, I think. Used skis are also available on Ebay.
I own the Atomic SX skis for slalom and am going to start using a longer pair for GS. Off the top of my team leader, I'm not sure what model the GS skis are. The SX skis are very flexible and that's what I raced on all concluding year. Check out the site for more information on individual models. Like you, I don't have a ton of money to throw around, any.
You could go Volkl or Fischer too, but they tend to be more expensive. I know that Fischers are collectively a lot heavier, so if you own a lighter build Fischers help save your skis on the ground in DHs. I don't know much almost Volkls, one of my friends was explaining to me the difference between Fischer and Volkls, I wasn't involved. All I can tell you in the order of those brands is that they are rather expensive. I haven't see very frequent new standard Rossignol lines lately; they were dominant surrounded by the racing skis department surrounded by the 80s and 90s but I haven't seen unbelievably many racers next to Rossis in times gone by few years. I reccomend Atomics because that's what I ski on.
Good luck and I hope you find the right skis.
Skibabe says some honest stuff. Definately check out ebay for the amazing deals. I do hold to say she is a bit stale the mark give or take a few the pricing as Atomics tend to also be more expensive and they are the heaviest skis on the market (especially when mounted next to their NEOX binding...very dutiful system but pretty darn heavy...I know this because Atomic is a feature line within the store I manage).
Atomics are amazing and they are arguably the best skis made for racing but I wouldn't pick the SX skis for your events. While they are technically a see ski, they are designed for skier cross and I find them to be a better "race inspired" freecarving ski than an adjectives out racing ski. If you are race Slalom and GS I'd look into the SL 11's for Slalom and the GS 11's for giant slalom and if you can only afford one two of a kind go for a longer double act of SL 11's. If you want a ski that you can play on and race on than the B5 SX's will rock your socks sour. I wouldn't worry too much around buying used Atomics either. Due to Atomic's construction technique (all metal and foam) their skis second a very long time and do not achieve "skied out" very like lightning. If you do go near Atomic be sure to have them tuned by an authorized Atomic Tuner as they hold very rigid guidelines for tuning.
If you don't want to run with Atomic I also approaching the Rossignol race skis. Other than that, Fischer have some well reviewed skis but to be honest they do zilch for me and Salomon's race skis enjoy gradually be on the decline for the last couple of season.
Good luck with the race next season.
ATomic and Elan is particularly tough brand to break. If you are aggressive as you say, you should check Elan.
Atomic SL:11. They bite so much!! I be going down a fairly steep black, and simply hammered a turn. They whip around, and I was expierencing G forces.
Atomic
OK if my consignment is 130 Lb. and I'm 5'8 and boot size is 11 or 12 how big should my board be?
Question:I haven't ever had to be in motion out and buy my own board so i have no view how to do all the measurements jump so i really need some oblige here, also what would be a good board for me also i similar to riding the burton boards and the nirto boards.
Answers:
if you like burton or nitro boards goo into the shop and ask the guy too show you adjectives the boards which have a immensity range between 130 lbs
from this you necessitate to work out what height you want
do you freeride??
you want a slightly longer board mabi up to you mouth classified ad say a 152
if you love freestyle and you hit the parks alot
you want a slightly shorter board problay somewhere betwwen you sholder and mid nouns mabi a 149 or 147 this you can check when in the shop

155 or 157
It depends where you ride. If you are riding more big mountain which I don't expect you are since you are not sure what board size to ride. I would say that you are within the groomers more so I'm going to say stay surrounded by the mid 150 area. Also I would consider riding a wider board so you don't catch toe and heel grab. Cheers!
You probably want a 151-155, depending on your style of riding. If you are a hindmost country, powder boarder, you'll want a little bit longer. If you are a park creature go beside a little bit shorter, easier to have power over on the rails and jump. Nitro Target is a good board at 151, Nitro T2 is biddable for 155, but I think you should in recent times go to the Nitro and Burton websites to find out what board you want.
