Ski resorts within unmarked zealand?
Question:has anyone ever done a nearest and dearest ski holiday in unmarked zealand? when is the best time of year to go and what resorts are best? i would involve a ski school thats flawless for young children and an nouns where the slopes are not too far from the resorts?
Answers:
I used to live within NZ and have skied most of the NZ resorts. You didn't voice what level you are at yourself. The south island have the biggest resorts and the snow will be more reliable there. Season starts June through to October. August is the most reliable month.
Cardrona is the biggest family circle skifield with big ski-school and lots of runs. It is best for beginners-intermediates. It is 20 minutes coach ride from Wanaka, adjectives the Wanaka hotels lay on daily coach transfers. If you stay surrounded by Wanaka you can also ski at Treble Cone - more Intermediate-Advanced, but still a 20 minute coach ride. Wanaka is a beautiful lakeside town.
If you stay within Queenstown you can ski The Remarkables (Intermediate-Advanced, less angelic for kids) or Coronet Peak, which has a angelic ski-school. Coronet Peak is 15 mins coach from Queenstown, and is quite a big ski-field, again worthy for beginners-intermediates.
None of the NZ ski resorts are quite as great as the Alps in vocabulary of ski in-ski out chalets, but NZ is attractive and my favourite place on land! The runs are open and not wooded. I'd probably recommend Cardrona as best for a household holiday. Have fun!!

The best I have found after nearly 20 years are any item with Gore-Tex.I regard as North Face is the most comfortable and user friendly.
ya columbia pants are great and complete w/ pockets. they are extremely warm as okay. definitely should buy them.
