Winter Sports Questions and Answers

Where is the best skiing on the West Coast? Lake Tahoe? Salt Lake? Denver?

Question:I'm from the East Coast and I'm visiting L.A. contained by early January and want to spend a few days skiing (or snowboarding). I would gross a detour to some place on the way rear.
Answers:

GO TO UTAH! "Best snow on earth!" Trust me! Ogden Valley is awesome! Not crowded AT ALL! In Ogden Valley nearby are these resorts: (Just so you know, they aren't just ski resorts, snoboarders are allowed, within case you hold a vengance.) Snowbasin, this one is most expensive. Wolf Mountain (formally known as Nordic Valley) which is well-mannered for beginners, because it's not big, so you can't get lost, and not too steep. My favorite is Powder Mountain! Especially the Sundown piece, because of the terrain park. There are sooo many well-mannered runs at Powder Mountain, good terrain park, and best snow surrounded by the valley...and the world! Just gross sure you order cheese fries when you're up near! :D
Personally, I'd say Denver, but moderately frankly, all three places over stupendous skiing/snowboarding... my home mountain is Whiteface (Lake Placid, NY), but "left" coast skiing is of late awesome.
Utah has the best snow. I,ve be to denver too, and their snow is kinda crummy. If your going to LA, you should go to water tahoe. I've always required to go near.
Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It's a little tricky to receive to, and a little expensive, but the skiing is unmatched within the lower 48.
Park City, Utah for sure

theres 7 mountains within 20 min so u can budge to a differnt resort each year.

Skiing or snowboarding?

Question:I want to learn a clean winter sport. which is easier to learn skiing or snowboarding? i already mountain bike, kayak, and i'm study to rock climb(!). so, i'm pretty adventurous. any ideas?
Answers:

Problem next to Y!A is you have no notion whether the answers you receive have any foundation surrounded by fact. IMHO the boarders who enjoy replied here appear to have little if any hypothesis about skiing.

If I be you I'd definitely swot to snowboard. It's great fun, easy to swot and you'll rapidly realize a level where on earth you can get around the mountain pretty ably. The first couple of days are tough and bruising - make sure you swot on a day when the snow is nice and soft, wear a helmet and bum wad, and wrist/elbow/knee protectors also.

Just for your own info, the first couple of days learning to ski are easier (and incontestably less sensitive!) but compared to snowboarding, skiing just take ages to get any righteous at. People do it 'cos they've always done it, they want to do the hottest cool thing ("newschoolers" and "jibbers"), they want to jump fast or they want more versatility, amongst other reason.

Whichever you choose, you're bound to have a great time!
Skiing have the shorter learning curve.
I hold been a skier for 25 years. Needless to say-so I am very skilled. I tried snow boarding a few times. It is also fun but ultimately they a intensely similar and I'm not willing to put contained by the effort to cram snow boarding.

If you're just starting I would say-so snowboarding because it seems to be the surf of the future. but skiing will never die out!
i do both, i savour both, i would not want to decide, perchance, since you seem adventurous you should also try both! flawless luck!
Skiing is easier, but then i started sowboarding and am semi pro sponsored by Sobe! I will never set off the board, it is so much more fun! I learned on the east coast contained by ice i could see my thought in, during a rainfall storm. So I learned to ride a mixture of terrain, that is why i win abundantly of my boardercross races, especially surrounded by Vermont in 2 inches of powder when adjectives of the west and rocky boarders are complaining of conditions. That is some of the best we get over here!
snowboarding is more fun and more exciting
Well to me skiing is much easier but snowboarding is contained by the new colleagues so if you want to look cool...snowboarding
From a snowboarder...

Skiing is easier to learn, however, it is harder to master... whilst snowboarding is harder to swot up, yet easier to master. Seeing that you're adventurous (I'm taking that to denote you're a thrill seeker), you'll probably like snowboarding better, as free riding and alpine snowboarding will incontestably give you the thrill you hope.

Seems that we're similar in some ways... I also mountain bike, kayak, and rock climb :)
This might be a bit biased because I board but its WAY better once you cram, granted that its tough at the start.
Snowboarding is easier to learn, but you hit a plateau sooner. Skiing is more rewarding in the long occupancy and you dont have to put your foot on the flat bits.

Hey do any of you guys know where on earth I can bring end year burton snowboards for a pious price? Thanks!?

Answers:

do not knwo where you are from, but several stores have closing years models now for a cheaper price...
Well Yes i do certainly, if you look up CCS they sell later years models and also I'm pretty sure that the burton website sells concluding years models. And i was looking around on ebay and saw a few, and if you looked-for you could buy mine. I have concluding years burton Custom X 154
E-BAY!
Any Mountain. I got a Burton barb for 199.00. Regular price was 350.00. It be a pretty sick deal! I don't know if they still own all their 05 on public sale but i would think so. Check it out!
i dunno if you can bring back burton cause they provide fast but you can be in motion into a board shop and ask to see last years stuff. they usually have it contained by the bak for like 40% past its sell-by date. if you have your heart set on a burton try a shop thats closed during the summer- they're smaller quantity likely to hold sold out.
