It was a storyline for the WWE to abet promote his and their movie See No Evil and just as a trigger to clear Kane viscous again. In his mind Kane would hear voices taunting him give or take a few the date and the past and how he and his house suffered on the day (but so did everyone else considering it be pumped over the soundsystem). Basically it was merely so fans would hopefully remember that on May 19th they should budge see the movie.
Because on may 19th wheen his movie was released the entire world saw what an awful player he was.
